Le Luisin South Face

I’ve been a the summit of Le Luisin quite a few times and skied there a number of beautiful lines. Each time visiting you get a new idea for possible skiable lines. It has so many different variations and especially the South Face is one awesome playground with endless possibilities. Actually it reminds me a lot of the South Face of Aiguille Chardonnet, which is also a labyrinth of interconnected couloirs and ridges.

This time we started from Les Marecottes village to get an early start for the direct variation of the South Face. After 1700 vertical meters of hard work we were standing at the summit. Conditions varied on the way up, but at least our line was skiable from the very top to bottom without rope work. Check some pics here. Thanks Dani and Henkka for super day out!
